Why is TT forcing me to purchase Expert Assist version ($100 per return) when I explicitly select 'I'll do my own tax' version ($40 per return)?

You can decide whether or not to upgrade to the Tax Expert version when preparing a return. You can't downgrade if you choose it by mistake. You must begin a fresh return using the appropriate version.
