Are language tests eligible for tuition credit if they were a prerequisite for a professional certification exam?

Can I claim the fees of the language tests on top of the professional exam fee which was a prerequisite to register for the professional exam?

I had to take multiple language tests to be able to achieve the minimum required score to register for the regulated professional exam, and I'm wondering if those fees can be claimed as tuition expenses. I've looked at the cra website but I'm still unclear if I can claim these expenses.

Thanks!

We appreciate you choosing TurboTax,

For the purpose of registering for a regulated professional exam, tuition tax credits are not available for language tests taken to meet the minimum score requirement.

Please visit the link provided for further clarifications:

  1. CRA: Amounts  which cannot be claimed as tuition fees
  2. CRA: Eligible tuition fees
