How do I know if I qualify for the disability amount. I am currently on long term disability from my employer only, I am not on CPP Disability

You have to have your doctor fill out a T2201 disability tax certificate.  You take a copy of it and then mail it to Canada Revenue.  They will tell you if they think you are eligible.
