I was a full time student last year and worked half the year. When I input my RRSP contribution in my taxes, it did not increase my refund. Why?

RRSP contributions cannot, on their own, create a refund. RRSP contributions lower your income so if you're already receiving a refund of all your income tax paid, the contributions will not increase the refund amount.

Consider carrying these contributions forward. You'll still enter the amounts on your return, just not take the credit for them this year.
