When you move provinces and have provincial tuition credit remaining, is it possible to amend your partners previous tax returns and apply it?

Moved from Alberta to Nova Scotia. When filing a 2018 tax return my partner was told he can't use his remaining tuition credit as it is provincial and not transferrable to Nova Scotia. Is it possible to amend my 2017 return and use his credit there? TurboTax suggested we use it in 2017 on my income but we opted to keep it for other years.

Absolutely. Assuming the tuition paid in 2017 of course.

If you've opted to take a transfer of the 2017 tuition amounts, you can submit an adjustment to your return for 2017 to show the transfer details.
