The CRA rules for Tuition Transfers only allow the transfer to be made to your spouse (or common-law partner), their parent or grandparent, or your own parent or grandparent. For this reason, you will need to enter the person who is transferring the amount as a "dependant" in TurboTax. 

 

The attached CRA Schedule 11 clearly states this rule, as does page 13 of the following CRA publication.

So we have to list them as a dependent, even if they are over 18 and not living with us?
