Counselling services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) can be claimed as a medical expense and would be put entered under the category "medical". In Canada, authorized medical practitioners for the purposes of the medical expense tax credit include registered social workers in all provinces but they are not recognized as authorized medical practitioners in the Territories (Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon Territories).
