Why do questions regarding income on a T1 form appear when you answer that your dependent with zero income is a student?

After answering that my children's income is zero, the next question asks if they were a student.  Answer yes and inputs from a T1 appear, including credits.  It doesn't seem that this applies, but I'm not 100% sure

In TurboTax Online, only children enrolled in college, university, or another post-secondary school are considered students. So, when you answer yes to that question, you are asked for addition information which may be needed if your child is transferring tuition to you.

If you child is not transferring their tuition to you (or your spouse, if applicable), you don't need to enter the extra information.
