What is the exact rejection code you received from the IRS?
The only insurance requirement on a federal tax return is the Form 1095-A if you had health insurance through one of the state Marketplace Exchanges or from healthcare.gov. If you did not receive a Form 1095-A and did not have health insurance through one of those entities then when asked if you received a Form 1095-A you should answer NO.
To enter, edit or delete your Form 1095-A -
- Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
- Click on Deductions and Credits
- Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
- Scroll down to Medical
- On Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A), click the start or update button
