Mistake in W2 on box 15 and 16
Hi,
My employer is in NY and I am working in NV (no state tax) and he is running my payroll only for NV state. But in W2, there is mistake showing that I have state taxes on box 15 and 16, but box 17 is empty. So do I need to correct my W2? or can I file without state tax?
Please help!!

the form is correct
all it means it that the employer is reporting the amount of income you had (box 16) that is reportable to NV and that no tax was withheld (box 17)
can i assume Box 15 states :NV'?
Turbo Tax will know how to deal with NV.

Well, that is s problem if you did not work or live on NY
If that is true, strongly suggest going back to your employer and request reissuance of the W-2 listing the state ad NV otherwise you risk that NY later comes back to you asking for the tax since your employer reported the income to the state of NY
