So very sorry for your loss.  Why do you need a 6 digit Identity Protection PIN from the IRS for a dependent?

Did you e-file your tax return and the IRS rejected the return and is now requesting a IP PIN for the dependent?  

If this is what happened and you have Never requested an IP PIN for the dependent in the past, then you will have to print and mail your tax return.
