When I enter the amount for Box 87 on my fire department T4 it actually REDUCES my refund instead of helping me. I think there is a glitch in the program. This amount is hurting me as a volunteer firefighter.
When you enter box 87 of your T4, it will populate on line 10100 as employment income, which will impact your refund. But you also have to enter it on line 312200, once you enter the amount on that line, you will then see your refund go up.
