Awesome - good to know the alternatives are working - no doubt I will not be overriding things or printing them to mail in from TurboTax - if not fixed in the next week or so I'll be moving on to another company as well.
Unfortunately Intuit seems to be providing the same level of care to TurboTax as they do Quickbooks, meaning they will soon be nothing more than a memory for my accounting needs soon.
Too bad, wasn't many years ago I would have paid triple than I did because they were great for both platforms!
Some people have reported that by manually splitting their T3 slip and putting one half the numbers into each combined return, they have been able to Netfile, without error, to CRA. Has anyone gotten confirmation from CRA that this is acceptable and that there won't be any type of audit or query from them ?
Your comments are spot on @trentonsnook . This once venerable product has gone from best of breed to utter train wreck in just one year. I suspect the recent closing of the Edmonton office and the related massive job cuts had something to do with it. This has the appearance of yet another offshoring disaster by a big software company going for short term gains. They’re going to pay the price now for their shortsightedness.
TurboTax, please outline what you're doing to fix this situation?
Customers with T3's and capital gains (lines 21/53)
1. T936 line 68140 is blank, root cause for my 95365 error
Do you acknolweldge the TurboTax problem and actively investigating to resolve T936 OR do you acknolweldge the problem but it's a CRA netfile problem OR there is both a TurboTax problem and a CRA Netfile problem?
Please be detailed and provide timelines where possible.
Your answer (or lack thereof) determines if I return the product
Another day and yet another futile click of “Check for Updates” returns no updates. The saga continues.
Hey Intuit: tick…tick…tick…
@rhost it’s purely a TurboTax problem. CRA’s error message is correct. TurboTax is just sending it bad data.
Just finished putting my taxes into wealthsimple, same return, never going back to TurboTax.
Thanksfully, I purchased from Costco and will be returning TurboTax Standard, shame on them.
Sorry, also, I want TurboTax to state it's their problem and not CRA NetFile, I don't see them accept responsibility.
That’s great news @rhost . I also fed my data into WealthSimple yesterday. I haven’t Netfiled from it yet but I have already verified that the data won’t generate the 95365 error code. I’ll Netfile soon but I would like to compare the numbers from a fixed TurboTax first, if possible. Next year I will only use WealthSimple.
