It appears that the Easy Step is not transferring the correct information to the ON479-A form. In Easy Step, I entered that our children were supported by both myself and my spouse. On form ON479-A, it shows as only one spouse supporting the children. Looks like something might be messed up.
Forms are generally more formal and similar to the official government forms whereas Easy Step uses less "taxy" terms and provides more guidance for users. The language and experience of the ONCARE tax credit in Easy Step & Form are different but achieve the same goal.
Since the children were supported by both you and your spouse, both of your incomes were used in calculating the tax credit whether Easy Step or Forms mode was used; see line 5 of ON479-A (ONCARE).
