I actioned stock options last year.
While the Canadian government planned to change capital gains deductions from 50% to 1/3rd, my company stuck with the former 50% amount. That means the full 50% deduction (box 91) is listed on my T4.
Now that the government has changed their plan, tax softwares need to correct any 33% deductions by adding another 16.67% (box 24901 of return).
However, turbotax doesn't seem to know mine is already 50%. It simply assumes a 33.33% deduction and added another deduction of 16.67% to my return that I can't find a way to override (I'm using online tool).
Does anyone know what to do?
