Form T936, Chart A, Line 68140, error code #95365 - Desktop Version

Ok folks, some of you are going to hate this , and some will not find it that bad.

I re-imported my tax forms from the cra,   and now the T936  line 68140 is populated.  great right!

well, I had a lot of t5008's  so now i have to enter the type field for all 60 of them , and put the dates in for all 60 .  I just finished doing  that yesterday ,  a real pain to have to do it again.

so this way will fix your t936 issue  for the T3's .   not sure if there is a better way of triggering the T3 proper update,   but this is one way.

if you only have one or two t5008's  , not a big deal,  otherwise you decide .

I guess another way is to delete your T3(s) and re-enter it manually.  then again it might depend on how many T3's you have.

good luck folks , let us know which way seemed easier for you...

my refund is now smaller ,  I guess it should have been all along:)

Interesting! After the update line 68140 was still wrongly showing zero.  I'm manually entering a single T3 slip and even if I delete the current entry and re-enter the data the software is still not calculating the line 68140 correctly.  Will try rebooting the computer to see if that makes a difference,

Update: makes no difference.  Software still not showing the correct number in line 68140

I can also confirm that if I start over with a completely new return, transfer in last year's numbers and use the Forms method, line 68140 works properly.  This is maybe what we will all have to do.  I guess the return counter will show one too many allowable returns used up but at least we have a way to file our return.

Did you have a capital loss?

Yes overall I have a capital loss.

Though the one T3 slip I have reflects a small capital gain.   So the number in line 68140 should be a positive number

to confirm i entered all my t5008(s) info (type and dates), and now the 68140 is zero again.   tried zeroing the t3 data and re-entering just the numbers. it did not work.   whatever the fix was it works sometimes but messes up later.   i used easy step initially., and went back to the place to import , and went all the way through the easy step again and now still no 68140.  so it got put in and then removed somehow?????   maybe the review took it out.

OK it's definitely not fixed properly yet then.  I'll wait till the next update announcement to try again.  Thanks for sharing the details of what your software is doing.
