I netfiled my tax return on March 31st 2025. Today (April 5th), I just needed to check some numbers so I opened my return and a new update of Turbotax Canada 2025 (PC version) got installed. When I looked, my tax refund was not the same $$ in Turbotax!
Luckily I had the pdf for the tax return. Turns out, that the net loss from a previous year I had claimed in my 2024 return (and submitted on March 31st) had simply disappeared from my return. I'm assuming with all the Capital gain problems in Turbotax that some programmer managed to screw something up with the Loss worksheet.
So heads up. If you are using the Loss worksheet to claim losses from previous years make sure it is correct before you file. It's a moving target this year with Turbotax....
