I love using Intuit Turbotax Canada, but downloading the product from the instructions in the box is impossible. It leads to the US or other product downloads which results in receiving an error code (or just a red error which makes it look like the code may have already been used, when really it is the wrong site) when you put in the licence code. Sometimes not until you’ve downloaded the incorrect product (US)
It’s very frustrating to get started. And i noticed this last year as well. I think the instructions just need a quick update for Canadians/Intuit using a purchased item at Costco etc. and there is no way to email turbotax to advise of the problem, only phone. so Im posting here.
From that site on the instructions it does not lead to the correct place for download. Do not use turbotax.ca/download as provided in instructions.
Ideally the instructions are updated to include the easier path by following turbotax.intuit.ca and ensure to pick the exact same product name as on the box. (US product names are close)
First use the menu and select File Myself
select turbotax desktop
go down and select already bought a product? Download
Turbotax.
hope this helps other users as the product is amazing once you actually get started.
TurboTax Desktop can be download from our website, on this link. As you said, you have to click on File Myself // TurboTax Desktop (see screenshot).
If you already bought your product and you have your License Code, you click on "Download your product". Then, you'll be redirected to this web page. All you have to do next is to select the proper edition (example: Standard) and follow the steps (see screenshot).
