That sounds so much easier. No idea why are board issued a letter rather than just do the form. It has made it much more complicated. Good luck!
So just tried entering all the information in the corresponding boxes and also leaving 68560 = $0 and no luck. Still getting the add up error message.
Using online turbo tax version.
Sorry to spam, but did your refund amount change at all once you entered the T1198?
If I put the same amount in 68518 and 68519, the form works but nothing changes on my refund amount.
No change. My understanding (based on reading other posts about this in the last week) is that we won't see a change in refund on turbo tax as the form goes to CRA for them to assess it once we file.
@Fslont Ah okay. That makes sense. Well I hope it gets sorted because it says I owe taxes right now!
Hi TurboTax Admin person. How can you say this, "We have released a new update within the software. Make sure your TurboTax software is up-to-date," when you know this is not true. I have talked to 3 different support people at Turbo Tax 2024 who have all apologized for the lack of capacity for Turbo Tax 2024 to be able to take information from a T1198. I have had one person tell me they hope to have an update ready by March 31, but now I wonder if anything will be done to resolve this issue with TurboTax 2024.
@mq212386 We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. We appreciate your patience.
I had the same error message today using the online form.
I called Turbotax support before, and they said it was because of a software issue, then I called again and was told the individual yearly amounts were less than 3000, so the form was not needed. However, it appears you need the form if the total for all the years is greater than 3000? It looks like I'm going to an accountant if this is not resolved.
