Open TurboTax
Hi, I keep getting "We’re sorry, something went wrong, The good news is that we’re fixing it." for many weeks, when answering the initial interview on my new 2024 tax return for Canada, right after importing data from last year. This keeps happening despite clearing all cookies and cache in my browser (time range: all time). A few things about my situation:
- I am physically located in the U.S., but I am using the site in Canada ww1.2024.ca.turbotaxonline.intuit.com
- I am filing jointly with my spouse
- I am a deemed non-resident filing under S-216, and so is my spouse
- It displays "We’re sorry, something went wrong, The good news is that we’re fixing it." right after asking me if I am a Canadian citizen (Yes), if I want CRA to share my information with Elections Canada (Yes) and if I need to file tax returns for previous years (No)
This has been happening since I first started my return >2 weeks ago. I restarted 3 times my return, using different computers (all MacBook Pros) using Chrome, and it crashes at the same place. I never had that problem when filing my Canadian return with TurboTax the same way for the last 7 years. How can I move forward with my 2024 Canadian return?
We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working for a resolution. We appreciate your patience.
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
Hi, I can confirm the issue has been fixed, and I was able to complete and file my tax return. Thank you very much!
@DragonHappyFly Glad to hear that. Thanks for the update!
