line 43700 is missing tax deducted on the T4A(OAS) t-slip

100% of my OAS payments were deducted at source, that is, box 22 of the T4A (OAS) t-slip is equal to box 18. Hence I never received any OAS payments. However the full amount is added (line 42200) to my tax owing but is not included in line 43700, that is, total income tax deducted (amounts from all Canadian slips). Therefore, I am paying back the full amount of OAS income although I did nto receive it since it was deducted at source.

I have checked that all the information from the t-slips has been entered correctly. How do I correct this without overiding lines in my T1 form?

Please help since I was on the phone for 2.5 hours with TT a few days ago. The agent couldn't solve it and promised a call back which I have never received.

On T4A (OAS) Box 22, is Income tax deducted. this amount needs to be entered on line 43700. Box 18 is taxable pension paid and should be entered on line 11300.

For line 42200 Social benefits repayment, as per CRA, if you received old age security (OAS) pension during the year, you may have to repay all or part of your social benefits. Enter on line 42200 of your return the social benefits repayment amount from line 23500.

Line 23500 – Social benefits repayment

We recommend you contact CRA for more information about this repayment.
