Locked forms

@Geoff88 There are about a dozen forms that are directly or indirectly affected by past and/or current investment income/expenses (including bank interest), and/or declared capital gains/losses. If one or more of these forms has found its way into your 2024 declaration, TurboTax has been ordered by the CRA to prevent you from Netfiling or creating a printed copy that can be mailed to the CRA.

CRA is hoping to open their gates by the end of March.

Google Bloomberg News with key words: "hoping to file your 2024 taxes early?"

Some forum moderators have suggested a workaround, whereby you try to manually remove the offending form(s) from your return and if the TurboTax application is comfortable with your tinkering, it will allow you to Netfile your return. You have to be satisfied that the form that you attempt to remove contains no data that you would ever wish to hold on to. Just because a form is present in your declaration within the application, it does not mean that the contents of the form is transmitted by Netfile. However if the same form(s) have been historically transmitted year after year by Netfile, then the CRA may wonder why the form disappeared in 2024 and call on you to explain.

If you are patient enough to wait for the permanent fix instead of tinkering with your return, you will be sure that no historic data related to your past and on-going investments are getting lost.

Locked forms

@Geoff88 These forms are still locked by CRA & RQ and not finalized yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?

We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax.

We appreciate your patience.
