T3 Box 53 on the T3 box 21 need to be the same.
You do the paper form with a pencil you have to do the calculations yourself then enter the data.
Do you have a capital gain or loss from Schedule 3 or is line 1 Chart A from T936 a loss?
Box 1 chart A is a loss. In this case Chart A does not populate.
Exactly, my Chart A line 1 has a negative number. I already made T3 box 21 same as box 53 and rounded to nearest dollar. That didn't help.
But because Chart A line 1 is negative, line 68140 and 68150 in Chart A is all zero. This is the issue. I'm hesitate to delete all my T3 slips, Netfile it, and then go on to CRA portal and use the Change my return option to fix it there. Forget about TT to provide a fix....
Just chipping in so that Intuit knows there is one more in that boat. Updated software this morning and unable to netfile with error code 95365.
Now Intuit, since you seem to be answering all posts saying this is a CRA issue and all software have the same issue, here's the proof this isn't so. I've entered all my data in StudioTax 2024 and surprise, surprise, box 21 from T3 makes it to Line 68140. Please fix your software.
The instructions on T936 for line 14 in Chart A read as follows:
"Line 1 minus line 13 (if negative, enter "0") If the total is "0", do not complete lines 15 to 19, and enter "0" on line 20. If the total includes an amount from a T3 slip, complete lines 15 to 19 below. Otherwise, enter "0" on line 19."
If you have a net capital loss then line 14 will be negative and you are supposed to enter "0" on line 14 and not complete lines 15 to 19. That means line 15 ( aka 68140) should be "0" NOT the total of box 21 on all 2024 T3 slips. This exactly how TurboTax and the other tax programs are working. CRA is incorrectly flagging this as error code #95365 even though it is the correct way to complete the form.
Line 15 to 19 in Chart A are only to be completed if line 14 is positive (i.e., you have a net capital gain) AND it includes an amount from a T3 slip.
You are correct Gordl and I suspected this was the cause but like somebody else mentioned, in previous years line 68140 was filled with Box 21 regardless if line 1 was positive or negative. I've checked my past returns and in 2022 I had a negative line 1 in Chart A but line 68140 was filled with the box 21 of the T3. Back then, line 68140 was line 10 of Chart A. Instructions were the same in 2022, do not fill lines 2 to 13 (2 to 19 in 2024) if you have a negative line 1.
So it definitely looks like TurboTax was changed to follow instructions of Chart A but CRA does not accept this. Question remains as to why Turbotax changed this behavior in 2024 ?
@chamnic1 and @GordL , you're both right.
Line 68140 and 68150 should be "0" if Chart A line 1 is negative according to the instruction found on Line 14 in Chart A.
But Netfile code #95365 says I have reported a capital gain from a T3 slip on line 17600 of Schedule 3. An entry is also required on line 68140 in Chart A of Form T936. Line 68140 cannot be less than line 17600.
@TurboTaxAniqua, above 2 statements are causing the error. One says the Line 68140 has to be 0, and the error code is saying that it cannot be less than the line 17600. Can you please advise?
Fresh update this morning and issue still not resolved.
Intuit, can we get a definitive date as to when this simple issue will be fixed. Box 21 on T3 should make it to line 68140 regardless if line 1 in Chart A of form T936 is positive or negative.
