After weeks of not being able to netfile due to the T3 error (I lost count of how many times I rechecked that the amounts were correct), I was finally able to do so. I'm not sure if this was the reason but instead of easy step, I went to forms. I went to the top bar, clicked on netfile and was able to submit this way.
I am getting an an error which I cannot resolve. It prevents me from filing using TT.
Thanks for this info. I have been dealing with the same issues and it it very frustrating. Turbotax should never put several boxes with the same number in the data entry form,. Very confusing!
TT support personnel said that if you are manually entering T3’s, you need to make sure Box 21 equals the sum of Boxes 52 & 53, but also only enter values in Boxes 52 & 53 for the period after June 24, 2025, with a
Date of Disposition of 12/31/2024.
As it was posted previously in this thread, CRA had some technical difficulties with the new system updates they implemented in January 2025, that was causing numbers to be rounded, so causing a NETFILE error.
You can visit this CRA link where you can have updates on these error codes:

Thank you,
There is a very simple solution to this problem. Box 52 and 53 should total the amount in Box 21. Go to the second Box 52 and 53 and enter the amounts - not in the foreign boxes 52 and 53.
Turbo tax simply has to remove the ‘foreign boxes 52 and 53 and ensure that the ‘second’ box 52 and 53 which is NOT foreign income totals the amount that was entered into box 21. These two boxes on the T 3 were divided into 2 boxes as the capital gains inclusions were to change mid way in 2025. This has become redundant as the government has put these changes on hold.
I fixed this problem today with a client. There two boxes for each 1) says Foreign Capital gains tax box 53 and 2) says Total Capital gains tax box 53 same with box 52 as well so on the bottom on T3 we need fill the Total Capital gains tax box 53 as same as what you filled out in the Foreign Capital gains tax box 53 since it does not do it automatically( same with box 52 ) but add if you have anything else basically. I was able to RESOLVE AND NETFILE.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing this. It did fix my filing to CRA but I noticed it really messed up the Quebec R1 so it will be interesting to see how filing Quebec return goes. Turbo Tax really needs to fix this issue or a bunch of us will be abandoning turbo tax.
@Mcpats We appreciate your feedback. Thank you. We have taken note of it and will forward it to the relevant department.
