T3 Capital Gain errors fixed by rounding decimals?

What a joke solution,  import your slips from CRA but to make them work in our software ignore what the slips say and enter different figures in those boxes .

Might make the form work but I would think CRA would see our numbers don't correspond to the figures they have on our account for those boxes.

Come Turbotax this cannot really be the solution .

Finally filed,  gave up on how Turbotax is working this year and just filed online with another service.

Tax figures very much the same and a joint return was $80 and no need to enter numbers that differed from my T slips.

T3 Capital Gain errors fixed by rounding decimals?

This is absolutely brutal.

I have been using turbo tax for 7 years and never seen such a fk up.

not only this is basic functionality that remains unfixed but I don’t believe that the recommended solution / hack align with CRA

I’m waiting 3 days for the fix and the requesting return of my money and going with another company to file the returns.

this was supposed to make my life easier not harder.

I don’t think I’m coming back next year.

Which solution have you used? I might switch as well.

T3 Capital Gain errors fixed by rounding decimals?

Yes, agree that seems like a bogus solution.

CRA knows what figures they expect to see in those boxes and the suggested work around requires us changing the figures in two of the box entries.

Really think this would delay the processing of the return.

I first tried one called Simple Wealth or something like that but I couldn't get it to accept any medical receipts.

Then tried the block guys and theirs was pretty simple, about the same cost and reported almost the same refund amounts.

I figured the refund difference might be caused by the TurboTax issue with these boxes adding up so I sent it in.

CRA is going to have the final say in the refund amount anyway but at least now my entries match what they have on record.

I tried your rounding solution. It worked. I filed, consequences be damned. Its only pennies!

@BigShot76 For the error on the T3 slip not balancing box 52+53 to equal box 21A, trying to enter the sum of 52+53 into box 53 (deleting 52) should fix the problem.

T3 Capital Gain errors fixed by rounding decimals?

Yes, this "solves the problem" in the TurboTax form and removes the Error message, the the form no longer matches what CRA is expecting.

When will the TurboTax T3 form be fixed so information can actually be entered in the correct boxes?

T3 Capital Gain errors fixed by rounding decimals?

I agree! I had and still have today the same issue and lost hours trying to resolve it. The Intuit tech support has no clue how to resolve the issue. I called twice, and at the end of the call, they wanted me to sell an upgrade of $60. So much for helping the customer.

I agree 100% with you. I could not say it better!!
