Can you please go to the "FIND" button on the top right and type in Canada Workers Benefit and click on Go- Then make sure that when it ask if you want to claim it- to put NO. Yes that will bring your childs refund amount lower, however they are not entitled to it. Then click on continue. Once that part is done- you will keep going in their return until you get to the transfer amount- and try to transfer once again.

As per the CRA: You’re not eligible for the CWB if you are a full-time student at a designated educational institution (unless you have an eligible dependant) or an officer or servant of another country (a diplomat, for example), or if you’re a family member or employee of that person. You also don’t qualify if you’ve been incarcerated for at least 90 days during the year.

Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I'm getting the same message.

Zero eligible to transfer.

I have selected no CWB.

My son worked in 2024 from Jan to Aug and then started school in Sept 2024.

He is getting a substantial refund until I enter the T2202.  Once I enter the T2202, his refund decreases.

I selected no CWB.

Zero credit to transfer.

@blgbonnie What likely happened is that when you put in his income, TurboTax claimed the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB) (aka the Working Income Tax Benefit) for him. This is a refundable tax credit for people who work, but don’t make very much. However, students are usually not eligible for this credit, so when tuition was added, the CWB was removed, lowering the refund. Other credits might be affected as well, as the tuition credit must be used before other credits, like the dividend credit.
