Antiqua -you are useless to us with these posts. This problem has been going on for weeks. There is no way it takes that long to fix a simple coding issue. I own a high tech company-send the code to me and we will fix it in an hour.

why not be honest and tell people that no one is working on this problem???

Can everyone please call customer service again and again to complain

If this issue isn't resolved so we can file electronically those that are entitled to the Carbon Tax Rebate will have to wait because of this

Please note, to receive the payment starting April 22, 2025, individuals must have filed their 2024 income tax and benefit return electronically no later than April 2, 2025. Eligible individuals filing their return after April 2, 2025 should receive their final CCR payment once their 2024 return is assessed.

T3 Error - The Handling Capital Gains Split Between Spouses

I understand the current workaround is to manually split each T3 into 2 according to the split percentages. However, I have many T3s. It is a PITA to manually calculate each one of them and split them like this.

I have discovered Box 52, 53 and 21  accept negative numbers.  So my own workaround is to ONLY create 2 extra T3 slips, one for myself and one for my spouse. I label them in the "Notes" as "Turbotax bug" just in case CRA challenge me about their existence. My extra T3 slip only have 3 negative numbers in Box 52, 53 and 21. Box 21 is the TOTAL amount of capital gain across all my T3s I need to split into my spouse's return. My spouse extra T3 slip has the 3 same numbers but are positive.

Other than that I also enter the split percentages of each T3 as usual. This way I don't need to create many T3 slips to workaround this bug. I compared the results of this workaround with StudioTax.  The results are correct.

Nice solution but won’t help me or others who submit individual returns.

Any timeline on fixing this for desktop?  I don't want to use the workaround because if I run the update when I open my taxes again if will likely adjust to proper 50/50 split & mess everything up.

If you use the workaround of splitting the T3 into 2 equal parts with half the amount entered in the boxes, this will still work when the bug is fixed. I am leaving mine split this way and will netfile the return in that state.
