After entering Capital Gains and Foreign Capital Gains correctly Turbotax returns an error:
Your foreign capital gains cannot exceed your total capital gains.
The sum of box 52 and box 53 must equal the total capital gain or loss in box 21.
The sum of Box 52 and Box 53 does equal Box 21.
Yes, having the same message and the sum is correct, adds to the same number as box 21 but still the error. Is there a update fix coming for this?
@Gary148 Schedule 3 is still locked by CRA and not finalized by CRA yet. Please refer to this link Why does TurboTax say my forms are locked or haven't been finalized?
We do not have any ETA on this yet but as soon a these forms gets finalize we will be updating them in TurboTax for an accurate calculations.
We appreciate your patience.
Follow up, not sure that your reply to my original concern is relevant.
I get an error when inputing T3 information that the sum of Box 52 and Box 53 does not equal Box 21when in fact the arithmetic is correct!??
See below ...
For some reason the matter is resolved when i use Boxes 52 and 53 for non-foreign capital gains?
@Gary148 For the error on the T3 slip not balancing box 52+53 to equal box 21A, trying to enter the sum of 52+53 into box 53 (deleting 52) should fix the problem.
We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on a resolution. Currently we don't have any ETA. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
Has the problem with the T3 been solved?
@hackwhyboy6 We are aware of this issue; rest assured, our development team is working on a resolution. Once it is resolved, we will update you in this thread. We appreciate your patience.
