Tax returns for resident international students

My brother in law an International student and has no world income. Can he use any of the Turbotax products?

Would he have to pro-rate or is it just a straight forward return like citizens?

He will need to determine his Residency Status for tax purposes.

If he earns income in Canada it will need to be reported on a tax return, without World Wide income there will not be a need to Pro-rate Non-refundable tax credits.

He may also qualify for the GST/HST personal rebate and should consider form RC151.

Does the International Student have a SIN (temporary) or Taxpayer Identification Number issued to them? When did they enter Canada? Do they have personal income prior to entering Canada?

They have a temp SIN (starting with a 9). He arrived in August (think it was August 23). He doesn't have income prior to coming or now
