Hi -
I have made significant contributions to my spouses RRSP account and entered it according to the instructions. However, when checking line 20800 on my return it only shows amount up to my deduction limit (which is low). The whole point was to get credit for the contribution to my spouse's as he still had room. Help.
Thank you
Making contributions to your spouse's or common-law spouse's RRSP reduces your RRSP deduction limit.
Here is a link to information you can review from the CRA, Contributing to your spouse's or common-law partner's RRSPs - Canada.ca
Also, since it appears you may have overcontributed, here is a link to the CRA's information on Excess Contributions - Canada.ca
