I am using the desktop version for 2024. I am a practicing tax lawyer (40+ years) and have used TurboTax for at least 16 years.
The software is not saving entered data. Sections (screens) still show the yellow highlighting around the "edit" and "update" buttons even after edits have been made and "continue" or "next" is clicked. My wife is a Schedule C business owner and has 1099-MISC royalty income. I have entered her 1099-MISC data several times and the software remembers the entered information from the 1099-MISC, but despite multiple commands to save and proceed, the next screen always shows the 1099-MISC as "untitled" with zero income. I have not had this happen in any previous year. What is happening? Is this a known bug. Unless it can be fixed, this software will be worthless to me.
UPDATE - I was able to clear this error by saving the 1040 TT file once, exiting TT, reopening TurboTax, saving and exiting again, and re-launching TurboTax. Upon re-launching, the Form 1099-MISC information that wasn't being saved showed up TWICE, and I had to delete the duplicate Form 1099-MISC. Strange.
