I am aware of a situation where the information that is showing on the user copy of the T1 does not match the information received by CRA via Netfile. Various codes and numbers just "changed". Three different "weird" occurrences - one digit in a field is different (2**** became 3****) , the spousal amount got shifted by one decimal (14,398 became 1438) and the HBP designated contribution lost $20. When we look at the "copy for your records" both as saved at the time and as 'recreated' now - the numbers and fields are as they were filed. But CRA "fixed" 2 of them (things that didn't need to be fixed in the later 2 instances) and assessed using the wrong 3**** field (which in this case changed a tax deduction into a tax credit - with the accompanying consequences).
Any ideas? Anyone ever had this happen to them?
We never heard of that at all. The spousal amount has a digit missing (9) So there was no shifting the decimal in this case as you said. It is just not there, unless it was entered wrong.
I would suggest you contact our phone support team to see if they know of any similar situation and can maybe shed light on your situation or have someone contact you and assist you further.
