How can I file for 2017 while my T2201 form is still in the assessment process?

I am currently trying to file for 2017. In 2017 I started being off work for disability. I have the T2201 form filled out by my doctor and it is currently sent off in the assessment process. If I send the return in will they adjust my taxes as needed if they approve the form? Will I have to wait until I hear back before I can file my taxes?

You can go ahead and file your 2017 income tax return and then once your T2201 is approved, you can file an adjustment request.
