How do I remove a dependent who was listed last year?

Click "Intro" at the top then on the dropdown select "Dependents information". You should see a list of your dependents. In the farthest right column you should see "Edit / Remove" links. Click Remove to remove a dependent.

You must first navigate through the profile section. Then the top nav will become available

I can get intro and then dependent information, but it will not remove

You may need to zero any amounts that the software has rolled forward before you can remove the dependant.  If all else fails, you may need to begin again without doing the import from the prior year.  In that way, there will be no prior record of a dependant.  You will need to input your personal information and carry forwards manually.

Hi. The system was just being obtuse. So I completed all the unfinished information (giving them names and birth dates) for each child it randomly entered. Saved and then returned and removed all the additional children. Thanks.

Tip: If the software created a bunch of empty 'dependents' that you can't remove, fill in fake info for each of them, and click the continue button to save them. Then, when you finish the section, go back and edit your dependents - now the remove button will work for each of them.
