I keep getting a marital status warning in the review stage of the filing, and when I make the correction from "married" to "common law" nothing saves, warning remains

how do I make the adjustment to be correct with CRA and be able to file successfully?

Are you preparing your return together with your spouse/partner or separately?

together. it will not allow me to change his response from "married" to "common law" and i don't want this to be why we have issues with our filing.

If you are preparing your returns together, changing the marital status option will change it for both of you.
