One of the important changes in your return is to make sure your status now indicates separated or divorced as you are not single as seen in this Canada Revenue Agency information: Marital status.
If your marital status changed from married or common-law to separated or divorced during the tax year: You’re still required to enter some information about your former spouse to complete your return and assess your eligibility for certain credits. The change may not affect your bottom line, but it’s required to complete your return as seen in our TurboTax FAQ I'm separated or divorced, so why am I being asked for information about my former spouse/partner?
For more information please see our TurboTax FAQ/video How does a change in marital status affect my tax return?
Thank you for choosing TurboTax.
