The 2024 T5008 requires a date of disposition due to the new capital gains rate that was supposed to apply to Capital Gains after June 24, 2024. Even though the new capital gains rate is not going into effect this year, the requirement is still there.

Why if this is a formality to enter this date and rate changes are not going into effect did i have to pay more taxes after entering a date into each entry using TurboTax then i had to before entering a date. My forms I pulled off the CRA website and they did not have a date. So I tried 1/1/2024 and 12/31/2024 and in both cases just the addition of a date if forcing me to pay more taxes??
