Child activity credit

The Federal 2016 Budget reduced the 2016 Children's Fitness Amount Tax Credit to $500 from $1,000, and eliminated the tax credit for 2017 and subsequent years.  The additional tax credit for a child with a disability will remain at $500 for the 2016 taxation year.

Lines 458 and 459 – are for the Children’s fitness tax credit

You can claim up to a maximum of $500 per child, for eligible fees paid in 2016 for the cost of registration or membership for your or your spouse’s or common-law partner’s child in a prescribed program of physical activity.
