Dear AnswerXChange, If I was a non resident in 2016 but came back for 5 months in 2017 and left in 2018 do I need to file a tax return? - John

Details:
1. I received a letter from the CRA asking me to fill out additional NR-73 and NR-74 forms. Do I need to fill these out?
2. I've been living in another country since January 2018 when I left.

The NR74 - Determination of Residency Status (entering Canada) and NR73 - Determination of Residency Status (leaving

Canada) are both forms that will help the CRA determine if you need to submit a tax return for the time you were in Canada.
