Filling amount claimed as 0 on TD1 forms at both jobs

Hi everyone,

I have a question that hopefully, someone can help answer. I have two jobs and filled out their respective TD1 forms at the start of last year. I just realized I had mistakenly put the amount claimed as 0 on all the TD1 forms. In other words, I didn't claim the tax credit amount allowed on either job. So throughout the whole year, looks like I was deducted more tax than I should have been for both jobs.

My question is since it seems like I got deducted more tax than I should have been, will the CRA recalculate the right amount and refund me the portion I shouldn't be deducted, or am I screwed?

Looking forward to getting some helpful answers!

Yes, if you paid too much tax on your pay cheques, then this will be compensated for on your tax return. You’ll either get a refund, or have your taxes payable reduced.

Thanks for the quick response Susan! That’s great to hear! I guess it makes sense that they would recalculate it anyways also in case someone put the incorrect amount right?
