How is the amount on Line 34000 (previously line 340) of Schedule 9 calculated?

We've received an "initial contact letter" from CRA asking to "support your claim for allowable charitable donations" but the number is quite a bit bigger on Line 34000 than what we actually gave (and, obviously, can verify with receipts).

Simply, we didn't give donations in the amount showing and can't substantiate the dollar amount that turbotax inserted for us on Line 34000. Please help!

You can claim up to a limit  75% of your net income  , for all eligible donations made by you or your spouse or common law partner.

If you have entered an incorrect amount, they will have to amend their tax return and refile with the CRA. Here's How Can I Amend My Tax Return?
