If the Disability Credit is on the dependant’s tax return (in TurboTax Online Standard/Premier/Self-Employed):
Go to Deductions > Disability Amount and click “Continue”.
Make sure all amounts are 0.00. Click “Continue” to save changes.
Go back to Deductions > Disability Amount and make sure all questions are answered “NO”. Click “Continue” to save changes.
Go to Setting Up > Personal Tax Profile for [NAME].
Click “Edit” next to “Other credits & deductions”.
Scroll down to “[NAME], did you have a mental or physical impairment?”. Uncheck anything that is checked in that section and then select “No” as the answer to that question.
If the Disability Credit is being transferred to you:
Go to Deductions > Claims for Dependants.
Leave “Yes” selected and click “Continue”.
Click “Enter Credit Info” next to the dependant you want to edit.
On the “Claim Dependant Credits for [DEPENDANT]” page, leave “Disability amount transfer” selected and click “Continue” until you get to the “Disability Transfer” page.
Make sure all amounts are 0.00 and that “NO” is selected as the answer to “Do you wish to make the claim for the disability amount transferred from [DEPENDANT]?”. Click “Continue” to save changes.
Click “Enter Credit Info” next to the dependant you want to edit again.
On the “Claim Dependant Credits for [DEPENDANT]” page, uncheck “Disability amount transfer” and click continue to save.
