Do you have any taxes owing? The medical expense tax credit is a non-refundable tax credit, so if you don't owe money, you don't get the credit, and it won't increase a refund. As well, make sure that the 12 month period that you are claiming matches the dates of your medical expenses. If your expense are from before or after this period, then they won’t be claimed on your return.
