If my child has disabilities, do I say yes for the disability tax. My children didn't earn any income and it won't let me fill in 0. What amount do I write for kids?

If you have already filed a T2201 form for the Disability Tax Credit and have been approved, you say yes for the disability tax credit.

You are able to enter 0 for your child's income. When you log in to TurboTax online -> Select the  Additional Dependant Information in the Deductions section on the left side menu.

  • Under the line Net income (T1, line 23600) -> Click Yes and fill in 0.
  • If your child has income -> Click No and fill in the amount.

You can also get more details in our TurboTax article A Guide to the Disability Tax Credit
