Yes, the amount on Line 43700 should be the total of all tax deducted on your tax slips. If this amount differs, you should go back and check to make sure you haven't made a keying error on your slip entries.

 

You can check these entries by going to T-Slips > T-Slip Summary and continue through. When you land on a Summary page that has a slip entered, choose to EDIT that slip and you can look over your entries.

1. Your reply is correct IF no pension-splitting is involved.

2. I neglected to tell you that in my case pension-splitting is undertaken, ie. part of my eligible pension is transferred to my wife.  This causes TurboTax to automatically transfer some of my Total tax deducted to my wife therefore my Line 43700 becomes less than my original Tax deducted.
