The UCCB (Universal Child Care Benefit) was a "set-rate" monthly benefit apart from the former CCTB (Canada Child Tax Benefit). The new CCB replaced both the CCTB and the UCCB in July 2016.
Unlike the CCB, any UCCB payments you received between January and June of 2016 are considered to be taxable benefits and need to be entered into your tax return. CCB amounts do not need to be entered on your return as those benefits are non-taxable.
If you received UCCB payments in 2016, you'll receive a RC62 slip to report these amounts. If you are a CRA My Account holder, you can access this slip online.
