Hello:
I was wondering if I am able to claim my visits to my Naturopath as well as the Vitamin C injections and Oncotherm treatments that he prescribed as my treatment plan for ovarian cancer in Canada.
Thank-you
For the Naturopath fees, it would depend on the province that you live in, as not all of them consider Naturopaths to be medical practitioners. You can look up “Naturopath” on this page to see if you can claim those service fees in your province: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-re...
Vitamins (except for B12) are not considered medical expenses, even when prescribed.
I was not able to find out if Oncotherm treatments are deductible, but you can contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and ask them. If you are in Canada or the United States, you can call the CRA at 1-800-959-8281. If you are elsewhere you can call 613-940-8495. Here are more ways to contact the CRA: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/corporate/contact-information/telephone-numbers.html
