Disability tax credit

my wife and myself have 2 autistic children both entitled to disability tax credit (DTC). Turbox tax says only one spouse can claim both credits under line 318. is it not posible for me to claim the DTC for 1 child   and my wife to claim the DTC for the other child?

The only way to have one disability transfer go to one parent and the other transfer to go to a different parent is to prepare separate returns.
