How do I choose the spouse who claims the DTC?

Hi, 

I thought spouses dont get entered into the dependents section, so i am not sure how this would help ?

If you are preparing your return with your spouse, select their return, then click on "2025 Tax Return" on top of the left side menu. Click on "Tax Profile", then "Your Tax Profile". Continue through the pages until you are asked if they have a mental or physical disability. Check that off, and you can claim the Caregiver credit (for yourself). Then later on in their return, you’ll get a Disability Amount page where they can claim the DTC amount and transfer it to you.
