Can I not go to beginning when I rolled over 2016 to an option about I was not filing with my spouse? I did see it & ticked "not filing together" but it did not work!

In the screens that appear after importing last year's data, you will see an option to choose either your return only, your spouse's return only, or both returns. This option appears right after the screen that lists possible changes from last year. 

If you have bypassed this option, you may start a new return and select that option after importing.
